On Tuesday, the National Prosecuting Authority announced that TV Presenter Katlego Maboe would be appearing in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court in connection with the violation of a protection order.

Later in the day, the NPA cited a mix up of sorts with the docket as the reason why Maboe did not make an appearance.

According to the South African, a protection order was taken out against the former Outsurance presenter by his former partner Monique Muller.

Maboe was expected in court over charges of violating the order.

According to NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila, however: "When the prosecutor saw an article about allegations made, she contacted the police and asked about the court appearance. She was given today’s [Tuesday] date for the court appearance. This morning [Tuesday] the docket was not brought to court as was expected. She has since asked for the docket to peruse it."

A new date for Maboe's court appearance has not yet been announced.

The former Expresso show host and his former partner were trending on social media towards the end of October over a viral video of Maboe confessing his unfaithfulness to Muller.

In the video, he admitted to cheating on Muller, who was filming and interrogating Maboe.

Muller mentioned an assault and filing a protection order against Maboe as a result thereof during an interview with BingeNews.

Maboe has denied any allegation of abuse, stating that he always has and always will stand up against the abuse of anyone.
