Rapper Kanye West appears to have admitted defeat in the US Presidential election after receiving 60 000 votes.

West (43) indicated throwing in the towel with a since-deleted tweet that wrote: "WELP, KANYE 2024," with an image of Ye posing in front of an election result map but, it was shortly replaced by a tweet removing the sigh of defeat with a more hopeful "KANYE 2024," with the same image.

Who voted for Yeezy?

According to Deadline, the Runaway-hitmaker was eligible on the ballot in just 12 states, securing 60 000 votes, most of which came from Tenessee (10 195).

West's Presidential run was off to a shaky start as his announcement to run for Office was late in several states where he could not register as an independent candidate since the deadlines had passed.

Ye also made just one campaign appearance in North Charleston, South Carolina, in July with an invite-only campaign where he wore a bulletproof vest and was brought to tears over the concept of legal abortions.

As much as the campaign was not likely to have the impact that the fashion mogul wanted, Ye averaged 5 000 votes in all of the states where he appeared on the ballot.
